The tributaries of the Rhine

Romantic trips through varied landscapes.

The Rhine keeps on surprising. Its tributaries are the gateway to historic and natural must-sees. Beautiful vineyards, forested hills or medieval towns: the Rhine has got it all. The regions covered by the Rhine are the Moselle, the Saar, the Main and the Neckar.

RegionsThe Moselle

Pretty wine villages and steep vineyards characterize the incomparable landscape along the Moselle. It flows through Lorraine, then forms the border between Luxembourg and Germany, and finally meanders in many bends between the Eiffel and Hunsrück massifs towards the Rhine. Many historic and interesting places such as Treves, Bernkastel or Cochem are worth a visit.

RegionsThe Saar

A wildly romantic landscape is waiting to be discovered. Forested hills line the shores, picturesque small towns tempt you to visit them. And the view over the Saar Loop near Mettlach is unique.

RegionsThe Main

Our routes along the Main start near Bamberg. From there on, the river flows through the Franconian wine region, past famous wine villages and through the beautiful Baroque city of Würzburg. The small medieval towns of Wertheim and Miltenberg are worth a visit, as is the cosmopolitan city of Frankfurt, or Mainz at the confluence of the Rhine.

RegionsThe Neckar

Along the shores of the Neckar lie towns like Heidelberg, Heilbronn, Ludwigsburg and Stuttgart. Here one finds history, romanticism, Baroque castles, and Swabian atmosphere. Numerous ruins and fortresses line the river's course.
